Around Town.

Friday, my mom  and I went around town and did Christmas RAOK! We went to the post office first. We dropped off a package, and I gave the lady there a candy cane full of candy. Then we went to the library and I stuck Christmas stickers into a few different books. After the library, we went to the bank where my youth leader, Gabby, works. I gave her a box of candy canes for her and the other ladies she works with. The lady at the post office and Gabby were very appreciative!

Today is also Crossword Puzzle Day. So here is a Christmas crossword puzzle for you!

Caroling and Children"s Hospital.

Last Saturday, I went caroling to four different nursing homes with a group from our church. I had a lot of fun! I also learned a couple new Christmas carols! :-)

My little brother had a doctor appointment at the Children's Hospital. And I had some donations for the hospital. So my mom brought the donations to the hospital for me. I did not get a picture first.... So I will tell you what I donated.

- A couple coloring books with crayons
- Homemade "Get Well Soon" cards
- Two play dough cupcake decorating kits.
- Craft kits

My mom said they were very appreciative.

I am doing more Christmas RAOK tomorrow!!!

National Brownie Day!

Today is National Brownie Day! So, take a break from whatever you are doing today and either make brownies or go buy some already made then have a treat while celebrating National Brownie Day! :-)

My first Christmas RAOK!

Our home school group went on Friday to a local nursing home and did a Christmas play for the residents there! The little kid group did a Christmas poem, the middle age kids did the Charlie Brown Christmas, and my group did the Christmas story straight out of the bible. We also sang Christmas Carols. It was fun! And I'm positive the residents enjoyed it! After we were done I gave the activity director two packs of large print playing cards! She was thankful!

This was the first Christmas Random Act Of Kindness out of many that I will do and post about! Please join me in making a difference this Christmas!

Been Busy.

I have realized I have not posted in a while..... Sorry. Well, lately I have been babysitting, doing school, making goodies to give away and getting ready for my Christmas random acts of kindness. I made some chocolate covered peanut butter drizzled pretzels. They are awesome!!! I'm bringing some to my friend Maggie after school today and my mom is bringing some to the chiropractor for the receptionist for me because I have to stay here and babysit. I'm also planning for my Christmas random acts of kindness I'm going to do. I'm still working on planning what I will do, but I printed out some Christmas coloring pages and I have crayons so, when Christmas gets closer, I am going to leave them in hospital for kids. That's all for now! I will try to post more later. Thanks for reading!

Friend Care Packages

Lately I have made two care packages for my friends. The first one was for my friend Rebekah! Her and her family are going through a difficult transition and I wanted to cheer her up by making her a friend care package. It was mostly made of candy and sweets!! :-) She loves candy, so this was perfect for her! The second one was for my friend Izzy. Her father was recently deployed. It has been hard on her. She said they are going to send him a care package. So I'm making a care package for Izzy! It has things she likes to do and eat! :-) I also am making her "Open When..." letters for when she needs them. Have you ever given a friend a care package???

The Ebola Virus Disease

Info On The Ebola Virus Disease

The ebola virus disease (or just ebola) is a dangerous virus that is very contagious. Ebola has mostly affected west Africa areas, though, there has been one or two cases in the United States.

Here is a photo of where ebola has affected. The most severely affected countries, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia have very weak health systems. So many people do not get the care they need. That is why there has been 7,492 cases and 3,439 have died because of ebola. Here is a link of ebola virus disease from wikipedia. It tells about what ebola is and how it affects people. Ebola is an awful disease! Scroll down to see how to help!

How To Help Fight Ebola

There are a few ways to help.

#1 PRAY that is the most important thing you can do! Because God answers prayer! Pray for all the people who have ebola and that God will heal them. Pray for the families of those who have died and pray for God to comfort them. Pray for the doctors and nurses who are helping end ebola and pray that they will not get affected and that God will keep them safe. And lastly, pray for those here in the US sending supplies and for those helping in any way they can.

#2 Look for an organization that helps end ebola. Samaritan's purse is one of the organizations I found that helps. You can go to their website HERE. At the bottom of the post on their website has a place to donate money to help end ebola. Please donate.

#3 Encourage others to donate and pray to help end ebola.

Please help end ebola, in any way you can! Thank you for reading!

October is here!

How can it be October already?????? So that means about three months till Christmas!! :-) Anyway, for the month of October, I am taking a break from earning money for True Hope Ukraine's new building and instead, I am taking any money I earn and using it to buy items to put in shoe boxes for kids in Liberia! Our church has a big shoe box packing night! (So I will take the items that I bought to that night for us to put in the boxes). After that night, we take the boxes to ICF and they ship them to Liberia. So please support our church and ICF in helping Liberia. Another way to help is going to the ICF's website and find out they are helping Liberia and other countries with the ebola virus outbreak. I will do another post about the ebola virus outbreak later this week.

Find out what is for sale HERE! Thanks for helping me send shoe boxes to kids!

The End of the "Do Something" Challenge

Today is the last day of the "Do Something" Challenge. (See previous posts HERE.) Sunday I was at my friend's house. We wrote encouraging verses and sayings on about 80 note cards. Then we went to the outlet mall and Walmart and we left the note cards on shelves in the stores. Yesterday, I left a candy bar in the mailbox for the mailman!

And then we went to Speech Therapy and brought homemade salsa and chips to the receptionist who was there.

Just Because the "Do Something" challenge is over, doesn't mean we still can't make a difference in the lives of others! Thank you for joining me in doing this "Do Something" challenge! Don't stop!

The past week and a half - "Do Something" Challenge

I have not posted in awhile and the "Do Something" challenge ends September 30. I am planing on doing something to end the challenge, but for right now, I will tell you what I have been doing! I have sent a few of "Happy" cards and birthday cards over the last week and a half and everyone was very "Happy"! On Monday, I gave a candy bar to the lady at the post office! And today I brought one to the man who works at the printing shop! Both were very thankful! It is so easy to buy a candy bar and drop it off somewhere in your local community! And so nice!

Walmart Quarters - "Do Something" Challenge

On Saturday, my friend Izzy, and I went to Walmart and placed quarters in the prize machines! We had 12 quarters to start with. Her and I each spent one on the candy machine and left the candy in the box for someone else! Then we hid the 10 quarters in other prize machines! We had fun and I have pictures! Go hide quarters! :-)

This is the candy machine we left the candy in.

Other candy machines with quarters.

This is a Winnie the Pooh Bear airplane ride.

Our Trip - "Do Something" Challenge

Last Wednesday we rented a motor home and left for a history trip around Wisconsin. We stopped at the Wade House, Old World Wisconsin, Cave of the Mounds, Devils Lake, Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum, Caddie Woodlawn's house, N.E.W Zoo, and Door County! Lots of fun and history! Also great places to perform random acts of kindness! :-) At Old World Wisconsin, I left nine green envelopes with tracts in nine random places for people to find! That was fun to do! Then Sunday night and Monday morning I put happy notes in public spots for everyone to see! Sorry... I forget to take pictures... But I do have a few pictures from Cave of the Mounds. We got home yesterday afternoon and I have tons of laundry to do! :-(

Movie Night Packages - "Do Something" Challenge

I made three movie night packages for different people. The first one was for friends at church. They have three older kids. The second one was for the receptionist at the chiropractor. And the third one, I have no idea yet! :-) I added a few more treats based on how many people were in the family. Feel free to add what ever you want to make your personalized! :-) (I put everything into THESE bags off amazon.)

The post-it note on the money says,
"Please rent a movie of your choice!"

Timber Rattler Game - "Do Something" Challenge

Friday night we went to a Timber Rattler game as a church! It was a lot of fun! But one of the most fun things was handing out $5 bills! (This was not my idea so I can not take credit.) My youth group leader, Jake, got the idea to get $5 bills out of our youth group bank account and hand them out to random people at the game! He gave the job to me and my two friends! Many people were very thankful and others were speechless! We added a note with the bills that said "Please enjoy a snack on Cross Training youth group!
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances,
for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."

Yesterday I left quarters in the candy machines!!!!!!!!

Library Surprises - "Do Something" Challenge

I was at the library and I brought bookmarks with a simple note and hid them in random books! The note said "this is a random act of kindness! Jesus loves you!" I think it would be fun to find a bookmark in a book I checked out! I don't remember how many I hid.... But I did forget my camera...... So I saved one to bring home and take picture for you! They are not very kid like bookmarks so I hid them in books meant for older people. Be creative in what you hid in books at you library!

"Do Something" Challenge - Catch up at Camp

I have not posted in a while because we have been gone all weekend at Homeschool Family Camp. But that doesn't mean I have not done anything. I have done many things. First, right before I left, I gave my friend Maggie, a bag of treats with a tag that said "You are out of this world"! You may print the printable out HERE. (Sorry, no picture.....) Once at Camp, the first thing I did was was left some packages of extra gum with THIS cute printablein the bathroom stalls! I also gave away a "Boredom Survival" kit to a family with young kids! There is no printable because I made it.
What The outside looked like.

What the inside looked like.

Everything in there. (Sorry, bad picture.)
Lots of Fun!

A close up of some of the items.
I also gave a "JOY in Jar" jar to a kid! It had goodies, but not as many! :-) You can print the printable out HERE.

Joy Joy JOY!!!!!
And what ever you do for this challenge doesn't have to be a random act of kindness or a gift! It can be anything showing just a little love towards someone or helping them out! Like this past weekend I saw a little boy getting impatient while his parents were talking so I went over and asked if I could take him to the park to play while they finished talking. She said "Why thank you! That would be wonderful!". See, it doesn't have to be big. Even something small can show how big God's love is!

Emergency Chocolate - "Do Something" Challenge

This is my first act of love in my "Do Something" challenge! Wednesday, I gave two emergency bars of chocolate to my sibling's speech therapist and the receptionist! They appreciated them. :-)  I am also leaving another bar in our mailbox for our mailman! I keep missing him though...... And I was gone all weekend he will probably not get it till tomorrow.... Oh Well.

You can do this too! Print the printable off HERE and grap a chocolate bar! This a fun and simple way to make someone's day!

For my birthday this year, I did RAOK party! At my party we did a whole bunch of RAOK! This first part is all the stations where we get RAOK ready to give away! (Most of it I had ready because we might not have a lot of time.) I assigned groups right when my friends got here. Each group took turns going to each station in my room doing what is at each station. I had three stations.

 Writing letters of encouragement,

Creating cards to go with crackers and making labels to go on water bottles,

and making rainbow loom bracelets for the kids in Haiti! (Want to get help! Go HERE!)

Here are some more pictures!

We took the cards and put crackers with them!

Here is the stuff I had done ahead of time!
Play-doh, two Easter eggs, bubbles, dollar, and treasure!

Group 1's water bottles.

Maggie and Katie making labels.

Group 2's bottles.

Thank you also for anyone who placed an order or is planning to! I'm hoping to get to at least $300 by the end of the summer. We'll see what God has planned! Thank you again!

My RAOK Birthday Party (Part 2)

Here is part two of my party!! (See part 1 HERE!)

We came downstairs and had pizza and dillybars! For my gifts I wanted everyone to bring donations for Father Carr's! So after we ate, we put all the donations in two boxes for easier delivering. Then we headed out! First, one group went to the post office and the other group went to the library! We brought cookies to both places! (Sorry no pictures...) Next, we went to 1st National Bank and brought them cookies too! ( My youth leader works there.) Then we went to Oshkosh. In Oshkosh, we went to Father Carr's first and dropped off the donations!

Next we went to my Grandma's house and gave her and Sarah (my sister) little treats!
We also stopped by Cellcom to pick up my mom's loaner phone. While we were there we gave the two workers, water bottles! (By the way, if you are ever bored, go to Cellcom! So many phones and Ipad minis to play on!!!!) :-) Then we went to South Park!

Maggie and me giving gifts away!

Time to stop and play!

Group 2 planning their move!

It's an Easter egg!

After the park, we went to Walmart and left crackers and cards on cars! Then we went inside and left dollar bills on $1 items! We came home just in time to give away goody bags and take group pictures!

Group 1!
Katie, Anna, Rebekah, and Maggie!

Group 2!
Ellie, Izzy, Rachel, and Isaac!
Thank you to everyone who came and brought donations! My party was a blast!! I hope to do it again!

Last day of RAOK...

Well today is the last day of 31 days of random acts of kindness... Even though it is the last day, it will not stop me from doing RAOK all year long! We should do RAOK all the time! Not just when we have a goal or something. If each of you did a random act of kindness to three people and then each of them did three more random acts of kindness to three more people and then it kept going on and on... It could transform the world! This will be my challenge to you though out the summer, using THESE cards, make a difference in the world and share God's word to everyone you see! I will still will be posting through out the summer if I did a RAOK big enough worth posting about and sharing my ideas with you! I will also post items available for you to buy that can help you share God's love! Have a great summer and change the world with me!! Oh one more thing, if you did a RAOK, I want to hear about it! Email me HERE to tell me! Thank you!

1 Peter 4:10
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace.

I guess I just spent time with my family having fun!

I took a baby food jar and filled it with red starbursts (oh, and the note was on red paper!) and put note on and it was ready to go! You can never thank your Mailman enough! :-) Right now I can get the picture to work and My mom is gone and My dad is almost in bed and would not like it if I asked him to help me... So, I will post the picture tomorrow!! Sorry...........

Day 17 of RAOK

Today was the last day of our Jesus Style Rummage Sale! It was a lot of work taking everything down. But I got the fun job! We had stored all the empty boxes up in our "fort" above the garage, so when we had to pack everything up, I got to throw all the boxes down the stairs... :-) I never really get to throw stuff down the stairs, so this was a LOT of fun!! Back to why I'm posting, I gave four of these really cute plastic baskets (which I found in the sale) filled with starbursts to random people!!

Friday, May 16, 2014

Day 16 of RAOK
